More than two years after its release, Helldivers 2 remains a highly popular multiplayer and co-op experience. While Arrowhead Game Studios hasn’t rolled out any major content updates recently, a smaller patch—version 6.1.2—has just been released, bringing a notable addition for PS5 players.
The update introduces a low-energy mode for PS5 users. This feature, which has been appearing in several PlayStation games over the past few months, allows Helldivers 2 to run normally while drawing less power from the console. As a result, players can expect lower hardware temperatures and reduced fan activity—benefits for both the system and the user.
The low-energy mode is not enabled by default. To activate it, PS5 players need to go to the console’s Settings menu, select Display & Performance, then navigate to Power Management, where they can turn the option on specifically for Helldivers 2.
Xbox Version Also Receives Fixes
Although the PS5 power-saving feature is the highlight of update 6.1.2, the patch also includes two fixes for Xbox players. While smaller in scope, these improvements address previously reported issues and should be welcomed by the Xbox community.
The official patch notes from Arrowhead list the following fixes for the Xbox version of Helldivers 2:
- Fixed an issue with inviting others to your game on Xbox after having previously left a game.
- Fixed several desynchronization and loading issues that occurred when a host invited multiple clients, or when a blocked client hot-joined a host who was already in a party with another client.
